Mr. Baird graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School in 1981 and commenced his practice with Bewley, Lassleben & Miller with emphasis on litigation in the construction and real property industries. In the late 1980s, Mr. Baird branched into litigation of state and local tax disputes. Acquiring extensive trial and appellate experience, as lead trial counsel in each of the cases of Union Oil vs. City of Los Angeles (2000) 79 Cal. App. 4th 383; Hughes Aircraft Company vs. County of Orange (2002) 96 Cal. App. 4th 540, Chevron USA, Inc. vs. State Board of Equalization (1997) 53 Cal. App. 4th 289; Yamaha vs. State Board of Equalization (1998) 19 Cal. 4th 1 and Gray vs. Franchise Tax Board (1991) 235 Cal. App. 3d 36. Mr. Baird's practice is presently equally divided between the areas of commercial and construction litigation, and state and local tax litigation.
